Rome and Paris | 2013 sample tour schedule*

Day 1: Overnight flight to Europe

Depart North America today on an overnight flight to Europe.

Day 2: Arrive in Rome;

Upon arrival the group should be prepared to wait up to 2 hrs for consolidated groups to arrive.  (We shouldnt have to do this since we are traveling on our own bus) Transfer from Rome airport to hotel (1-2hrs).

These are all sample menus. All meals are served as a group meal and not “a la carte”. All cities will also offer a vegetarian option.

Day 3: Sightseeing of Vatican City; sightseeing of Rome; visit Colosseum; walking tour of Rome

Meet guide at Vatican city for guided walking tour of Vatican museums and Sistine chapel (1hr30min-2hrs) and St. Peter's Basilica (45min). Tour ends with free time for lunch and chance to buy religious souvenirs (1hr). After lunch, bus takes group across city to Colosseum for guided visit (45min) followed by guided walk from Trevi fountain to Piazza Navona via Pantheon. Group will be able to see interior of Pantheon (20min). 4pm: Free time to shop (1-2hrs) after tour before transfer to dinner.
Most groups will visit the Vatican in the morning, however, on certain

dates events will be reversed and the Colosseum/guided walk will happen in the morning.
The Tour Director will arrange an evening bus excursion in Rome to see many of the major sites illuminated and a visit to some of the more lively piazzas.

Day 4: Our Free Day!  MS Palma and Ms. Lowe have been planning a day of walking, sightseeing, shopping, and eating like Romans!. 

Day 5: Transfer to Florence; sightseeing of Florence; train to Paris

8am: Depart Rome, transfer to Florence (3hrs30min). Upon arrival, Tour Director walks group to Piazza Signoria (city hall square) and orientates group who then have free time for lunch (1hr-1hr30min). 2pm: Meet guide in central Florence for walking tour (1hr 30min) including entrance inside Cathedral (Duomo). After the walking tour, the Tour Director will take the group to a local leatherworks showroom where they receive a brief demonstration (20min) on the leather trade in Tuscany. After the leather visit the group has free time (1-2hrs) before meeting to go to dinner. After dinner, return to bus and drive to train station for night train to Paris. Group need to be at station 1hr
prior to scheduled departure.

Day 6: Walking tour of Paris; visit Notre-Dame; visit Louvre;

Sample Menu: Paris
Breakfast will be on the train. Specific details will depend on train arrival time and hotel location. Tour Director leads walking tour including self-guided visit to Louvre (1-2hrs).

With hotel close to Metro an Evening out in Paris will be planned.

Day 7: Sightseeing of Paris;

 
Meet bus and guide for sightseeing tour of Paris (3hrs) including photo stop at Eiffel Tower.
12pm: Our free half day in Paris!  Ms. Lowe is planning an adventure for us there.   4pm/5pm: dinner. After dinner, return to hotel by public transport. 
Our last night in Paris:  Tour guide will plan something like a boat ride on the Seine!

Day 8: Fly home to LA!
